Get your happiness back, start here. One of the byproducts of our contemporary isolated life is depression. Depression can have devastating effects on our mind and body, the activities that we used to enjoy with friends and family could become lifeless. Taking anti-depressants such as Prozac can be a mental and physical roller coaster. There are three problems with the anti-depressant drugs currently available on the market.

First, they fail to correct the behaviors that contribute to depression, or even show direction towards behavioral modifications, so the disorder recurs. Second, they do not improve the body’s own mechanisms for rectifying such disorders; rather, they temporarily force a change that gives symptomatic relief. Third, for some the severe side effects of these drugs can create major implications.

Worse yet, studies show for many people there are no drugs that can help. It is truly sad to hear about how many people commit suicide even when they are taking drugs regularly. Below you will find four natural ways to overcome depression without the use of any drugs.

1. Overcome Depression and Change Your Life Forever

Discover Powerful, Easy-To-Follow Scientifically Proven Techniques to Permanently Cure Your Depression.
Your Feel Good Factor Has NOT Gone, you Just Lost It… Get Your Happiness Back and Set Your Mind FREE…

2. Brainswitching

One of the best techniques neuroscience research and brain mapping have developed is Brainswitching. Brainswitching is a power cognitive behavioral therapy that can be just as effective as anti-depressants.Depression exists in the emotional part of the brain. Brainswitching uses basic mental exercises to switch the neuronal activity from the emotional part of the brain (the subcortex) to the thinking part of the brain (the neocortex) which does not have the capacity for depression.

Here’s an example of Brainswitching that you can try for yourself. Lets say you find yourself being depressed, instead of thinking “I am so down and depressed” make yourself busy with some trivial logical exercises or games. At such a time you can play games that involve logical thinking (chess, soduku, online puzzles, etc) or simply close your eyes and in your mind start singing your favorite song with full concentration. Refuse to think that you are depressed. Concentrating your mind on some thought or song will block the cognitive awareness of the depression going on in the subcortex, the emotional part of your brain. This technique will increase the neuronal activity in the neocortex and decrease it in the subcortex, thus correcting the chemical imbalance that feeds depression.

3. Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3’s aid in the brain’s neuron connectivity and are important components of nerve cell membranes. People who do not get enough omega-3 fatty acids in their diet may be at an increased risk for depression. They help nerve cells communicate with each other, which is a vital step in maintaining good mental health. Studies show that people who ate a healthy diet consisting of fatty fish 2-to-3 times per week for 5 years experienced a significant reduction in feelings of depression and hostility. If fish is not a regular part of your diet you can also take omega 3 fatty acids in a vitamin pill form (1000mg daily dosage). Omega-3 Fatty acids are not only helpful for overcoming depression, but they are also used as treatment in diabetes, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, High Blood Pressure, Arthritis, and many more.

4. Aerobic Exercise

“A lot of what passes for depression these days is nothing more than a body saying that it needs work.” – Geoffrey Norman Exercise and fresh air play a big part in keeping depression and mood swings at bay. By aiming to get outside and jogging at least three times a week for half an hour at a time helps you clear your hear, think straight and aids concentration. It also gives you that ‘runner’s high’ by releasing your endorphins that can instantly cheer you up. Exercising is a good way to work through and release stress as well. It does not have to be fast paced jogging or running, just get your heart rate up to120 to 160 beats per minute depending on your age and condition. Now an expanding body of research shows that exercise can improve the performance of the brain by boosting memory and cognitive processing speed. Exercise can, in fact, create a stronger, faster brain. This is possible because researchers believe that exercise can help the brain produce more seratonin which could prompt new neurons to grow. Low levels of seratonin have been associated with clinical depression. Most antidepressant medications, such as Prozac, enhance the effectiveness of serotonin. Interestingly, these drugs take three to four weeks to begin working — about the same time required for new neurons to form and mature. So the reason these drugs could be effective during depression is because they increase neurogenesis. Just as exercise does.

5. Sleep

Improper sleeping patterns are both the cause and consequence of depression. So why does depression cause insomnia? The answer lies in the fact that people suffering from depression have a difficult time controlling the different mood and sleep hormones. The hormones you need to improve mood and energy are not the same ones you need to help you sleep. Our body needs serotonin to be active and energetic during the day, and it needs melatonin to help us pull back and sleep. So if the body starts producing melatonin in the daytime it can cause us to feel dull, unstable, irritable and moody. Oftentimes, depression is the result of your body producing the wrong hormones at the wrong time of day.

This imbalance in the body clock can be caused from lack of sleep, stress, trauma, lack of light, or number of other factors. In scientific terms this is referred to as the Circadian Rhythm Disorder. Medical journals now report that depression is closely tied to circadian rhythm disorders. Being out in the sunlight for 30 minutes a day helps keep your internal body clock set. This daily rhythm helps to regulate our sleep/wake cycle and insures a good night’s sleep that helps our mental and physical health. In addition to going out in the sun light here are some good sleeping habits you can follow to readjust the body clock.

No activities before going to sleep – You should strictly avoid adrenaline before going to sleep. Stay away from anything that is exciting or stressful and yes that includes exercise, TV, or even reading before going to sleep. Follow a steady sleep routine – Try going to bed at the same time every night. We all know how working in shifts and jet-lag affect sleep: do not emulate them by going to bed at random times each day! Go to bed early - By going to bed early you wake up naturally instead of being forced by an alarm clock, and it also prevents you from being out of sync with the solar cycle. Going to bed early allows your body to slow crash down and fall asleep. Only use your bedroom for sleeping - Dedicate a seperate room for sleeping where you don’t do any work or stressful activities. This subconciously tells your body this is the place to sleep and your body slowly forms a habit of it.

Conclusion

Turn these tips in to a routine like brushing your teeth, so that they become a part of your daily life. You don’t think about them, you just do them! If you take these natural steps everyday it can be very effective in overcoming depression. In fact, studies have shown these to be as effective (or even more so) than traditional therapies. Incorporating these natural steps in your daily life will not only help you overcome depression but also improve the general quality of your life.

Depression Recovery: Recovery From Depression Is Possible

The road to depression recovery can be a long and tough one. And a lot of bumps along the road are certain. Still, a lot of people have recovered from depression and many are on their way to depression recovery.

Depression is so common that experts call it the ‘common cold’ of mental illness. We often neglect common things and depression is one of those. Many of us do not realize that proper treatment is very much necessary for depression recovery. Various treatments are available for depression. Cognitive behavioral therapy, antidepressants and different self help methods are commonly used. Generally, doctors advise to use a combination of those. Whatever depressive disorder you are facing, it would be wise to contact a doctor for check up first.

You can try some self help methods for yourself as I found that the best from my experience. You can exercise a bit daily. Studies have shown that exercise reduces the effects of depression for a long time. You can find quick relief from antidepressants and for some serious conditions it might be necessary, but still medication should not be the only choice. Some people find Cognitive behavioral therapy a good relief from depression. It helps preventing the recurrence of depression.

Depression normally takes a long time to treat. And proper follow up is also necessary. Whatever road you take for depression recovery, remember not to leave it in the middle. This is really important because leaving treatments before total recovery can create serious problems in the future.

Depression is not a curse, it is a curable disease. Most of the people get complete relief after treatment. So, pay attention and help yourself or your dear ones to get proper treatment for depression.

Depression And Anger

There is an old saying, “depression is anger turned inward”. Anger is a powerful weapon of our mind against stress and threat. People suffering from various depressive disorders feel angry at themselves or angry at others alternatively.

Let us find out the connection between depression and anger. When we get angry, hormones like adrenaline and cortisol are released in our blood. The energy and aggressive feelings we get from anger is the outcome of those hormones reaction. And when the process gets out of control, these excess hormones present in our body creates an imbalanced situation that our brain fails to cope with.

Various studies have shown that anger feeds depression. When you feel angry, you intend to pass the pain generated by anger to others. Your boss shouts at you, and then you shout to others, making a chain along the way. But when the sensation is gone, you feel pity upon yourself.

There are various ways of anger management that would also help you fight depression. Some well known techniques are relaxing technique like breathing or visualization, cognitive restructuring (changing dramatic thoughts in to rational ones), following a plan, good communication, using humor etc. Another good way to calm your mind is to use Buddhist mindfulness techniques.

You can use some precautions to stop anger feeding depression. You can avoid situations and things that make you mad, keep a journal about how you feel at times, express yourself calmly rather than shouting.

The exact relation between depression and anger is still unclear. But, if you can control your anger there is a better chance that you can overcome depression, too.

Beat Depression: Fight For Beating Severe Depression

People suffering from depression tend to think that it has no ending. They see no way out of it. Well, that’s natural; it is one of the effects of depression that people feel like that. Whatever your feelings are telling you, do not listen. Beating depression is very much possible. Feeling you are not that strong to overcome it, you can always seek some help. Support from your dear ones or from a doctor will surely make it possible. All you need is to ask for help.

Asking for help is the most important thing you can do to overcome depression. When you seek help from others you also start to help yourself. Your subconscious mind begins to understand that it is time to get out of depression, time for a change. Your mind which was divided in so many parts making your attitude and decision making completely out of control suddenly begins to form in one piece and agrees to your call for help.

<?php
include_once("336280.php");
?>

Normally we feel shy to ask others to help us. We feel embarrassed in a situation when we had to call for help. Depression intensifies our negative feelings like Sadness, irritation, hopelessness, embarrassment etc. But you can use it for beating depression. If you can’t beat them, arrange to have them beaten. Use the depressive feelings to beat depression. Ask for help to people you know. You may feel shy and embarrassed but that is the key. It will create a big and long lasting impression in your mind against depression. You will find help within yourself for beating depression let alone the help you would get from those you asked.

Are there any stages of depression? How and when they come and what is the worst stage? A depressed person can get worried sick by thinking about them. But the truth is there are no distinguished stages of depression. Depression varies from one person to another depending on age, sex, culture, past history etc. every individual is unique, and so is their depression. Too many variables are associated with depression as such it is quite impossible to differentiate this illness in various stages.

All the symptoms of depression can attack at once or can come in turns. A teenager would experience this illness in a different way than an adult person. Yet, we can categorize particular types of depression and list the common symptoms associated with them. Some examples of different depression are major depression, bipolar depression, prenatal and postpartum depression, seasonal affective disorder etc. Some common symptoms include anxiety, fear, hopelessness, difficulty in making decisions, slow reactions, irresponsible behavior, sleep disturbance etc.

As I have mentioned, there are no specific stages of depression. The symptoms may vary depending on the situation. Depression can cause serious damage to one’s confidence. He or she can be consumed by pessimistic thoughts and start thinking about suicide.

Depression is a curable disease. Do not underestimate its abilities. Prolonged depression can cause irreversible damage to your personality and make you feel like you are living in hell. Our life is short; passing time with depression is nothing but a waste. So take it seriously and try every means necessary to overcome the disease.

We often get nervous in new situations. Get afraid thinking that we might make a fool of ourselves in front of a lot of people. This is normally the root of social anxiety disorder. This shyness gets so heavy upon us that we do whatever necessary to avoid getting in to a situation like that. It becomes a fear, an irrational fear. This is quite common in teenagers. Situations like giving a speech or going to an interview can give us a lot of stress. Normally it starts from a bad memory, in some previous occasion that went bad and we tend to think that it will happen again. And when we stand in front of an audience to give a speech, we are so afraid that it is almost certain to be a bad one.

Now, let us talk about the social anxiety disorder treatment. Various kinds of therapy and counseling are available along with a lot of medications and supplements. A combination of medication and therapy can be useful. Psychotherapy from a good therapist or some kind of group therapy can be taken. The therapist would first understand the intensity of your fear and then try to make you face to face to your fears again and again in a healthy manner to reduce the anxiety it produces. A lot of medications are available in the market. Consulting a psychiatrist or a doctor and following doctor’s advice is essential before using medications.

Social anxiety disorder treatment can surely cure us from the ‘shames and shyness’ of our life. If you are experiencing some kind of social phobias or disorders in your life, it is not too late to take steps and overcome those obstacles.
